Who is required to complete hunter education in Wisconsin?

According to Wisconsin law, all hunters who were born on or after January 1, 1973, must complete hunter education certification in order to hunt.

Is completion of the Wisconsin state agency-approved course required in order to buy a license?

Yes, in many cases. In order to buy a license, Wisconsin requires that hunters who were born on or after January 1, 1973, must first complete a course approved by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and IHEA-USA.

What is the minimum age to take this online course?

Students who are 18 years old and older will be registered to the Adult course.

Quizzes and/or Exams

Do I have to take an online exam?

If you are 18 years of age or older and choose this online-only course, the Final Exam is the exam you take at the end of the online course. You must score at least 80% on the Final Exam to pass. You have unlimited attempts to pass the Final Exam. If you don’t complete the exam in one session, don’t worry. When you log in later, you will be taken to the first unanswered question of the exam.

If you are under 18 years of age or choose the Hunter Internet Field Day course, you must complete the appropriate online course for admission to the Hunter Internet Field Day. You are required to attend the Hunter Internet Field Day to complete your Hunting safety certification.

About Your Certification

What is the proof of online Wisconsin ilearntohunt Youth Course completion?

Once you pass and pay for the online course, you will be able to immediately print out the Hunter Internet Field Day Online Course Completion Voucher. This is your proof of online course completion. You can print the Hunter Internet Field Day Online Course Completion Voucher right then, and/or request that a PDF be emailed to you. This certificate EXPIRES 550 days after course completion.

What is the permanent Wisconsin Hunter Education Safety Certificate?

The Hunter Education Safety Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed all the education requirements. The Hunter Education Safety Certificate will arrive within 45 days after you complete all certification requirements.
